Updated General statement for our Recreation Program

Updated General statement for our Recreation Program

Dear Parents and Players,

As most of you are aware, The Governor has called for all schools, K-12, to be closed and a stay at home order was issued until April 14th. This step was taken in as a tool to contain the spread of COVID-19.

As a result, Michigan State Youth Soccer has also ceased all soccer activities including Director Academy, Premier, Jr State Cup, State Cup and any sanctioned tournaments which fall in that time period

As a club, it is our responsibility to make sure all of our programs are conducted in a safe manner and do our part in protecting our families and friends.  We also realize that we provide a vital recreational outlet for many families through our recreation program.

To help install a sense of stability, we have decided to start recreational games Saturday May 2nd.  We have worked hard to devise a schedule that will allow us to play a 7 game schedule, utilizing a couple of Friday evenings, between May 2nd and June 13th.  If the state health department, US Soccer and Michigan State Youth Soccer still has restrictions in place at that point, we will need to cancel the Spring season.  That decison will be made later in April based on the direction we are given from the State.

We will continue to set up our long list of summer academies and camps and our Technical Director has been working on additional programming to add to our great summer camp offerings which include our Jr. Academy (3-8 year olds), Academy I (9-13 year olds), Academy II/Driven for 14-19 year olds and through our International Program with Professiona Club Celtic FC, the Celtic FC camp for 9-19 year olds.June 22-26th.  The LINK IS HERE.

Midland Soccer Club is committed to providing a fun and safe atmosphere for our players and will continue to follow the direction of our state association in all programming decisions.
